Lynn has been practising as a mixed media and stitch artist for 25 years after graduating from NCAD in Dublin. From learning her craft in inner-city Dublin to honing it amongst the forests and lakes of rural Co Clare, Lynn moved west 15 years ago. Surrounded by lush countryside and the beauties of nature, she finds it hard not to be inspired and is currently painting a series of local rural scenes and landscapes.
Stitch is predominant in much of her work, and its versatility, texture, line and ability to attach materials together is what excites Lynn about this medium. Her artwork provides the imagery for her extensive range of chinaware and textile products. Each piece of bone chinaware is individually designed and finished by Lynn and fired in her studio kiln.
This series of work with her signature bird motif is called ‘The lives of birds’ and over the years has become a recognisable brand. Lynns work can be found in private and in public collections and has been commissioned privately and publicly for both Beaumont hospital and The lady of Lourdes hospital, Drogheda.
Lynn’s studio is open to visitors by appointment only.
