Day 1: Portumna to Dromineer

Your Lough Derg adventure begins as you depart Portumna and cruise south, passing through the landmark swing bridge. Enjoy the open water before arriving at Dromineer, a charming lakeside village in County Tipperary.

Dinner
After mooring in the scenic marina, take a leisurely stroll around the village, stopping by Neddy Hogan’s Cottage and Dromineer Castle. Dine at The Whiskey Still, where you can enjoy delicious dishes like beer-battered fish & chips or buttermilk chicken burgers with stunning lakeside views.

Day 2: Dromineer to Tuamgraney

Morning Activities
Kick off the day with some waterside fun at Aquasplash, one of Ireland’s largest inflatable waterparks. Rent kayaks, paddleboards, or even a double-seater canoe for a thrilling adventure on the lake.

Lunch
For a delicious lunch, stop by The Lake Café in Dromineer. Choose from a variety of tasty options, from French toast and pancakes to tuna melts and warm caprese salad rolls, all paired with locally roasted Ponaire coffee.

In the afternoon, cruise west towards Tuamgraney via the River Scarriff.

Dinner

Day 3: Tuamgraney to Terryglass

Morning Activities
Explore some of Tuamgraney’s highlights, including a behind-the-scenes look at the Wilde Irish Chocolates factory, where you can watch chocolate-making in action and sample sweet treats. Then, visit McKernan Woollen Mills, where beautifully woven scarves are crafted on traditional looms.

In the afternoon, cruise back onto Lough Derg, heading north toward Terryglass.

Dinner
Terryglass is known for its exceptional dining options. Choose between the welcoming Paddy’s Bar or the Derg Inn, both offering mouthwatering meals made with fresh local ingredients.

Day 4: Terryglass to Portumna

After a morning walk around Terryglass Marina, enjoy breakfast on board before making your way back to Portumna. Keep an eye out for the graceful mute swans, a signature sight of Lough Derg.

Before leaving, consider exploring Portumna Castle & Gardens, where you can visit the historic castle, grab a treat at CaToCa Fine Food, or take a tour of the Irish Workhouse Centre to learn about Ireland’s poignant past.
