This year, the Dromineer Nenagh Literary Festival comes of age as it celebrates its 21st birthday!  Join us as we celebrate, and savour the best of contemporary literature which we have programmed for you over our four day festival.  Our celebrations got off to a great start with our summer event, ‘Notes of Hope’, when Colum McCann and Colm Mac Con Iomaire enthralled us with their words and music in the beautiful setting of Tullamore Park, so skillfully moderated by Dr. Pragya Agarwal.

On behalf of myself and the organising committee it gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to our faithful friends, and equally to those of you who are joining us for the first time.  Over the last 20 years the festival has gone from strength to strength and we are proud to say that we are now firmly established as a staple of the literary year.

I would like to thank our main sponsors The Arts Council of Ireland, Tipperary Co. Council and Creative Ireland.  I would also like to express our gratitude to our local partners Nenagh Arts Centre, Nenagh Library, the Abbey Court Hotel, The Nenagh Book Shop, and to all the local businesses, sponsors and volunteers whose generous support reflects the true community spirit of the festival.  This year comes with a host of new relationships and ideas.  We have new events and new venues to add to our varied and interesting spaces and buildings.

I want to acknowledge my hard working committee for their dedication, commitment and passion. They have worked tirelessly over the last year to make this festival possible.

Whatever the weather, we guarantee you a stimulating, spirited festival and a warm atmosphere to enjoy and share your interest in books and reading.

Tá súil agam go mbainfidh sibh go léir taitneamh as an féile I mbliana.  Táim ag tabhairt cuireadh díbh go léir teacht ar ais chugainn sa bhliain 2025.
