SUMMARY:Lights and Pans: An Upcycled Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Lights and Pans: An Upcycled Exhibition\, June 10th – 26th \nLights & Pans is a vibrant and imaginative exhibition created by students of Tipperary Education and Training Board\, celebrating creativity\, sustainability and the power of transformation. \nThis dynamic showcase features a diverse collection of mixed media artworks and uniquely crafted lamp shades\, all made from recycled and repurposed materials. Combining textiles\, paint and decorative elements\, each piece reflects a thoughtful and inventive approach to upcycling\, where everyday discarded objects are given new life as expressive works of art. \nThe exhibition highlights the students’ resourcefulness and creative exploration\, demonstrating how materials often overlooked or discarded can be transformed into striking visual statements. Through colour\, form and texture\, the works invite viewers to reconsider notions of waste\, value and artistic possibility. \nSupported and curated by Melissa Ryan\, Tutor with Tipperary Community Education Board\, Lights & Pans offers a joyful and inspiring reminder of the creativity that can emerge when sustainability meets imagination. \nDuration: During gallery opening hours\nSuitable age: All Ages

SUMMARY:Elements – An Exhibition by Andy McCarthy
DESCRIPTION:Elements – An Exhibition by Andy McCarthy\, May 18th – June 5th\, Free Admission \nLaunch: May 21st\, 6pm \nWater\, earth\, fire\, and air. These are the four elements of the world that are essential for all life. This exhibition by Andy McCarthy will concentrate on two of these elements\, earth and water. Andy will examine earth and the role it plays from the perspective of trees. She will also examine water and its importance to all life on planet Earth. \nTrees are essential for our wellbeing. They absorb harmful substances such as pollutant gases\, ammonia\, sulphur dioxide\, and nitrogen oxides by trapping them in barks and leaves. Trees also have the ability to calm people by reducing blood pressure and regulating feelings of anxiety. As well as providing shelter for a wide range of animals such as birds\, insects\, and small mammals\, they also regulate temperature\, reduce noise and air pollution\, and help prevent soil erosion. \nWater is arguably the most essential element of all life and no living thing can survive without it. Water is responsible for energy and food production\, as well as a healthy ecosystem. For people it is needed for so many daily functions: cooking\, washing\, drinking\, and bathing. Water improves brain function\, aids better digestion\, helps long term memory and also boosts physical function. \nThis exhibition will be depicting these elements through Andy’s artistic vision\, a vision that has been inspired by the forces of nature that make this planet so special. \nThrough a series of works inspired by the rhythms and forces of the natural world\, Earth & Water invites viewers to reflect on the delicate balance of these elements and their enduring importance in our lives. \nAge: 18+
