Journey to Killaloe in Co. Clare and admire its beautiful setting on the River Shannon.

Joined by a 13-arch stone bridge to its twin town of Ballina, Killaloe village is a network of charming narrow streets, flanked by old shops and hourses that climb up the steep hillside and down over the 13th Century Cathedral.

Follow the river upstream and explore the bustling marina. Take a boat out on the gentle flowing water and later, wander along the canal banks and disused railway line to get a feel for this old world town. Stop off at the Lakeside Hotel for a delicious meal and check out the cosy pubs to meet some of the friendly locals.
