Portumna Water Recreation Park To Terryglass Harbour

3 km one way – ​1 hour one way

Possible for guided beginners in good weather

Head left (east) from the recreation park and cross the mouth of the Shannon River, following the navigation markers. Paddle along the bank to the white stone cairn, then cross to Terryglass at the closest point (600m wide). Enjoy stunning views down the lake from this spot.

Exercise caution when crossing the river during high flows and the open water to Terryglass Harbour, especially in windy conditions. Plan to end your journey at Terryglass if needed for safety. A rewarding route with beautiful scenery!
