Dromineer to Luska

6km one way – 2 hour one way

Suitable for intermediate paddlers

Start at the beach in Dromineer and turn right (north), keeping an eye out for boat traffic. Pass the mouth of the Nenagh River, which can be paddled up to 5km (water levels permitting) to reach Hanley’s Woollen Mills and café. Continue along the reed and tree-lined riverbank, following the bay to the opposite side of Dromineer.

Paddle past a large house with lawns (1.3km) and a forested riverbank before heading north along an exposed headland. Enter the bay and look for Luska Pier in the far corner, which may require navigating through reed beds. A scenic and varied route with plenty to explore!
