Dromineer to Garrykennedy via Tamona Little and Youghal Quay

11km one way – 3 hours 40 minutes one way

Suitable for intermediate paddlers in good weather

Head east from the recreation park and follow the navigation markers into the Shannon River. Be cautious of rough waters where the Shannon meets the lake, especially during high river flows, and steer clear of the angling stands on your left.

Paddle under the N65 bridge, then return along the opposite side of Hayes Island. Watch out for large wakes caused by motor cruisers and water-skiing craft in the river. A scenic and adventurous route!
