
St Flannan’s Cathedral & Churches
St Flannan’s, Killaloe’s 13th century medieval cathedral, steeped in history for over 800 years, a place of learning, wonder and spiritual enrichment. Situated in the centre of Killaloe on the banks of the River Shannon and close to Lough Derg.
The cathedral’s fascinating Norman gothic architecture and Romanesque artefacts provide a glimpse of medieval times. Open daily and all are welcome to wander in; guided tours are bookable via website. Religious Services take place at 11.30am on Sundays and at 10.30am on Wednesdays. Listen out for the melodic chime of the cathedral’s 8 bells every Sunday morning.
