River Run House & Cottages are nestled in the picturesque village of Terryglass in Co. Tipperary – a short stroll from the banks of Lough Derg, where the River Shannon meets the mountains of Tipperary.
We offer 4/5 star self-catering accommodation in the heart of Ireland, in the quant village of Terryglass. This gives our guests the opportunity to relax, unwind and explore the surrounding countryside whether it’s a short stay or a week-long getaway.
River Run House is a distinctive country house, accompanied by three pretty cottages in one and a half acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, right in the centre of the village. The location couldn’t be better. If relaxation is on your mind or if water sports float your boat – you will find it right here. Our accommodation has undergone an extensive, stylish refurbishment of the highest standard to create a unique rural destination.
The three cottages can accommodate four guests each while our two spacious apartments can accommodate up to six guests. The stunning main house incorporates the two apartments and can be configured to sleep up to eighteen people. Together the main house and cottages can accommodate larger groups of up to 30 guests – ideal for family holidays/gatherings and catching up with those closest to you. Our bedrooms are flexible in their layout and can be dressed as single beds or super-king, all bedrooms are en suite.
All cottages and apartments have their own patio, living, dining and cooking areas, equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, induction hob, microwave, washer/dryer, toaster, kettle and a Nespresso machine. There is a smart TV with all terrestrial channels and a beautiful log-burning stove to create that home away from home feeling for the chillier evenings. The private patio areas are furnished with all-weather wicker patio furniture and beautiful seasonal planted pots.
Across the road, there are two fabulous atmospheric pubs (Paddy’s Bar and The Derg Inn) – both offering delicious food and everything from creamy pints of Guinness to the latest gin infusions. It is only a five-minute stroll to Terryglass Quay where you will find communal BBQ areas and a children’s playground.
