SUMMARY:‘The Architecture of What Lingers’ – An Exhibition by Christopher Clery
DESCRIPTION:‘The Architecture of What Lingers’ is a multidisciplinary exhibition by Christopher Clery that explores the lasting emotional and psychological effects of gender-based violence\, trauma\, desire\, and survival. \n\nAt the heart of the exhibition is a striking wearable sculpture inspired by the intricate ivory carvings of seventeenth-century artist Joachim Henne\, which Clery encountered at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. Created from screen-printed EVA foam\, the piece features intertwined figures and symbols of power and control\, resulting in an artwork that is both visually compelling and thought-provoking. \nAlongside the sculpture\, a series of silkscreen prints examines how experiences of violence can leave lasting traces on memory\, identity\, and the body. Through sculpture and printmaking\, Clery invites viewers to consider how personal and collective experiences continue to shape our understanding of resilience\, survival\, and selfhood. \nPowerful and reflective\, The Architecture of What Lingers creates space for dialogue\, awareness\, and a deeper understanding of the enduring impact of trauma. \nContent Warning: This exhibition contains themes of gender-based violence\, trauma\, and abuse which some visitors may find distressing.

SUMMARY:The Love Hungry Farmer
DESCRIPTION:The Love Hungry Farmer by John B. Keane\, adapted for the stage by Seamus O’Rourke: \nJohn Bosco McLaine is a bachelor farmer with a romantic heart and an unshakeable belief that love is just around the corner. Although he has never had much luck with women\, his optimism remains intact. Undeterred by the endless advice and opinions of his neighbours in a community where eligible women are few and gossip is plentiful\, John Bosco sets out on a determined search for a wife. \n\nIn this warm\, funny\, and deeply touching adaptation of John B. Keane’s beloved novella\, Seamus O’Rourke brings the lovable farmer to life with humour\, heart\, and exceptional storytelling. Often compared to Keane himself for his gift of capturing rural Irish life\, O’Rourke delivers a performance filled with colourful characters\, sharp observations\, and genuine humanity. \nA delightful evening of laughter\, love\, and one man’s unforgettable quest to find his perfect match.

SUMMARY:‘Macalla Taoide’ – An Exhibition by Verona Stellet and Carol Kennedy
DESCRIPTION:Macalla Taoide is an exhibition by Verona Stellet and Carol Kennedy. This collaborative exhibition brings together printmaking\, sculpture\, and photography\, inspired by Ireland’s coastline and the ever-changing relationship between people and the sea. Exploring themes of environmental change\, pollution\, and our emotional connection to coastal landscapes\, the artists invite visitors to reflect on the impact of human activity on the marine environment and the fragile beauty of our oceans and shorelines. Drawing on research trips along the Irish coast\, Stellet and Kennedy respond to shared observations through their distinct artistic practices\, creating a rich dialogue between print\, sculpture\, and photography that offers varied perspectives on place\, memory\, and environmental change. Thought-provoking and atmospheric\, Macalla Taoide is a compelling exploration of Ireland’s coastal environment and our enduring connection to it.

SUMMARY:After Sol – An Exhibition by Mary Conroy
DESCRIPTION:After Sol – An Exhibition by Mary Conroy \n Free Admission \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunch: November 5th\, 6pm \nAfter Sol is a compelling exhibition by artist Mary Conroy that investigates the increasing separation between people and the natural environment. \nInfluenced by Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism\, while remaining firmly connected to craft-based methods\, Conroy produces works using unusual natural materials such as plant-based inks\, recycled paper\, and wild clay. These are paired with drawings created using mass-produced black pens\, merging two contrasting realms within a unified visual language. \nAt the heart of the exhibition lies the contrast between permanence and transformation. The natural materials continue to alter and develop over time\, mirroring the cycles of growth\, decay\, and regeneration found in nature\, while the black ink remains constant and unchanged. Through this interplay\, After Sol explores humanity’s pursuit of permanence in contrast to the reality of a constantly evolving natural world. \nLayered with texture and delicate detail\, the exhibition encourages viewers to reflect on their connection to the environment and to consider the delicate relationship between the human-made and the natural world.
