Trad Fest in Birdhill

Two legends of the Irish music scene, PJ Murrihy and Seán Ó Sé, will headline the Tidy Village Committee Trad Fest in Birdhill from August 15–17.

The weekend programme includes a soccer match, barbecue, busking competition, dancing workshops, storytelling, a hurling match, guided walk, dog show, treasure hunt, and a children’s art event, with trad sessions in the marquee each evening.

Murrihy, a Clare singer-songwriter known for hits like Pat Murphy’s Meadow and There’s Life in the Auld Dog Yet, has toured widely since the 1980s. Ó Sé, famed for An Poc ar Buile, rose to prominence in the 1960s with Seán Ó Riada and has performed across Ireland and internationally.
